Mouthwatering chocolate dessert recipes can be found in most recipe books. Some take more time and skill than others to prepare. Chocolate desserts can be extremely rich and may not seem appealing after polishing off a large main course. That's when a light chocolate mousse or chocolate dipped fruit may be more appetizing and less cumbersome to digest.

Although there are some people out there who don't care for chocolate (yes, we know, that's amazing, but true!) the majority of the world's population would tell you that their favorite dessert is some sort of chocolate dessert. How many can you think of?

We could go on and on, but you might be wanting to read this and go get your own chocolate dessert. Or maybe you want to make your own. To that end, we've included a recipe for French Silk Pie, a delicious, decadent chocolate dessert that looks and tastes gourmet, but is easy as...well, pie!

FRENCH SILK PIE#09

1/2 c. butter, cut in 8 equal parts

1 (1 oz.) square unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled

1 tsp. vanilla

1 (8 inch) baked pastry shell

3/4 c. sugar

2 large eggs

Whipped cream

1. In a small mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar.

2. Beat in chocolate and vanilla until blended.

3. Add eggs, one at a time, beating with electric mixer at medium speed for 5 minutes after each addition.

4. Spoon into pastry shell.

5. Chill, garnish with whipped cream.
