Candy BarCandy bar varieties are many and everyone has their favorite. But they're all pretty solid. |
Break Me Off A Break Of That Candy Bar!
Back in junior high I had this friend, who I will call Gene, who loved to sing the Kit Kat theme song. Only he would say it wrong, just like in the heading above. "Give me a break! GIVE me a break. Break me off a break of that Kit Kat bar." That's what he would say. As if "break me off a break" makes any semblance of sense. But that's not the point. All I am trying to say is that at some point or at all points in our lives, chocolates play a central role. Just because Gene lacked a firm command of the language did not diminish the quality of the candy bar itself, or the ability of these high-fat, high-calorie and high-pleasure snacks to make us really happy.
My point is that there is a candy bar story like this with everyone
Maybe it is not a particular variety of chocolate candies that floats your root beer float. Or your boat for that matter. With the options you have out there, it is easy to see why people around the country are so enamored with candy. You do not have to limit yourself to any kind in particular, although there are many people who enjoy a particular kind over all the rest. When it comes to Kit Kats or Mars bars or Almond Joy or Charleston Chew or whatever you are in to, there is something that strikes your fancy. Makes you long for the good old days. There is just something evocative about a chocolate dessert, no matter who you are or where you live.
We are all one people and some things, such as the candy bar, are prime examples of the joys humanity can share. This life is not always about competition, it's about happiness. The simple things. The little things. So break off a break of it today.
